Event Description:

Join us at Mackin House for a day to celebrate African culture in Canada. Enjoy food, performances, an interactive drum circle, crafts, and a presentation by the African Descent Society of BC. Learn about the invaluable contributions that African settlers have brought to the Lower Mainland and celebrate African culture with us!

Timeline:

12:15pm Presentation by the African Descent Society of BC

12:45 – 3:45pm Food demonstrations & samples in our kitchen

12:45-3:45pm Crafts

1-1:30pm Poet and Singer/Songwriter Aisha Mac will perform her R&B, Soul, Blues and Jazz inspired melodies.

2-2:30pm a musical performance by Fynyx Nation

2:30-3:30pm Interactive Drum Circle

No Registration Required. By Donation. All Ages.
