Event Description:

Join members of Vancouver’s Universal Gospel Choir with special guest, Terrance Kelly from Oakland California for a full day music workshop, culminating in a mass choir concert on Sunday, Feb. 16th.

Terrance Kelly, renowned gospel music conductor, singer and composer from Oakland, California and long time friend of UGC is joining us for a weekend of great music making! Terrance will be teaching gospel singing tips and techniques and introducing a number of fun and inspiring gospel tunes, which you’ll then have the opportunity to perform at a concert the following day. Terrance’s energy and humor is infectious, you’ll be laughing almost as much as you’ll be singing!

All workshop participants are invited and encouraged to join us for a concert on Feb. 16th, where you will sing the songs you learned with Terrance as well as hear repertoire from the Universal Gospel Choir, Terrance Kelly and the Canadian Memorial United Church Choir, accompanied by the UGC Band and renowned pianist Tina Bryant.

FORMAT:
February 15th: 10am-4pm workshop. 1 hr lunch break, please supply your own lunch.

February 16th: Sound Check 5pm, 7pm Concert at Canadian Memorial United Church, featuring Terrance Kelly, UGC, the CMUC Ensemble and the Workshop Mass Choir, accompanied by the UGC band and renowned pianist Tina Bryant.
